32 Colleges Still Empty, DU to Announce Two More Cut-Off Lists

Despite DU releasing the fifth and final cut off, seats in 32 of DU colleges are still vacant. To fill these empty seats, DU will be coming up with a merit list on July 27, 2016. However, students can apply for admissions in their desired colleges via the centralised admission process until July 26, 2016.

Surprisingly, this year DU will have to release more cut offs than what it has estimated to fill the vacant seats.

Few seats have still been left empty in each course in about 32 of DU colleges even after the announcement of the fifth cutoff list. Admissions in the fifth cut off list came to an end on July 23, 2016. Also, some seats are also vacant in the OBC category as most of the students were able to take admissions in the college via the unreserved category due to the fall in percentages in the fifth cut off.

To fill the above mentioned vacant seats, there is a possibility that DU will be announcing two more cut- off lists for admissions.

DU colleges such as Daulat Ram, Sri Aurobindo and Aryabhatta are still open for admissions for courses like B.Com (Hons) and B.Com. Infact, in Kirori Mal College, about 305 seats are still empty in 21 courses alone. Also, for ST, OBC, SC, PwD and Kashmiri migrants, about 39 B.Com seats are available. In case of general and other category students, a total of 33 seats are still lying vacant and three seats are open for Economics and two for B.A English.

Apart from this, Ramjas college has 251 vacant seats for all categories along with 16 seats available for admission to B.A course in the general category. Also in the political science subject, five seats are available.

In LSR college, psychology and philosophy courses have vacant seats and colleges Hans Raj, Miranda House and Indraprastha College are also having vacant seats in various courses.
