UCEED 2024 Shortlisting Criteria: Evaluation process for Part A and B

UCCED 2024 Shortlisting Criteria: For admission counselling eligibility, the shortlisting of the candidates will be conducted in two stages. Stage 1 shortlisting will be based on Part A (CBT test) of the question paper and Stage 2 will be based on Part B (offline test). A cutoff for qualifying part A will be set by IIT Bombay and only those candidates who score above it will be moved to Stage 2 of the shortlisting, wherein their offline test will be evaluated manually and a final list of selected candidates will be prepared.

The following pointers explain in easy words the evaluation process that will be considered for UCEED Part A shortlisting:

• As Part A is a computerized test, its marks will be calculated directly.
• Along with it, the average and the standard deviation of marks for all students will also be calculated. Average marks are denoted as μ and standard deviation as σ.
• The cutoff for the general category will henceforth be calculated as:
  UCEED General Category Cutoff 2024 = μ + σ/2
• Based on it, the reserved category cutoffs will be calculated as:
  UCCED OBC/EWS Cutoff 2024 = 0.9*General Category Cutoff
  UCEED SC/ST/PwD Cutoff 2024 = 0.5* General Category Cutoff
• The candidates who score above their respective category cutoff will be shortlisted for Part B evaluation.

The following pointers explain in easy words the evaluation process that will be considered for UCEED Part B shortlisting:

• Two experts will evaluate UCEED Part B question paper manually and assign their respective marks accordingly.
• The difference between the marks given by the two expert evaluators will be averaged out as follows:
• Difference less than or equal to 20 marks (20%): The average of the two marks will be the final score of the candidate.
• Difference greater than 20 marks (20%): A third examiner will then check the answer copy and so on will be continued until the difference between the closest two evaluations comes out to be less than or equal to 20 marks. Then, an average of the two consecutive closest evaluations will be marked as the final score.
• If the difference in marks between the moderator and either of the examiners is the same, then the higher average will be considered.
