UGC Directs Colleges to Take Steps Against Ragging
The students can call 1800-180-5522 if they find any act of ragging.
The University Grants Commission urged all the colleges to take necessary steps against the ragging. According to a circular released by UGC stated the third amendment on anti-ragging.

According to the third amendment, any act of physical or mental abuse targeted on another student on the grounds of caste, colour, race, gender, appearance, nationality, place of birth, place of residence, economic background and linguistic identity will not be tolerated.
The UGC mentioned that all the colleges had been asked to submit an online undertaking every academic year. The colleges and universities have to conduct workshops and seminars to create awareness on eradication of ragging.

An official of Shivaji University said that any act of ragging would lead to suspension of the candidates. The UGC has also established a toll-free anti-ragging helpline number in 12 languages. The students can call 1800-180-5522 if they find any act of ragging.
