UGC Invites Applications for Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) for Minority Students
UGC has opened online applications for Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) scheme for minority students. Check MANF eligibility criteria and application process here.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has initiated the application process for Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF) scheme for minority students for the academic session 2018-19. The UGC has released the notification for MANF after two years. However, the UGC has increased the number of fellowships to 1,000 from 756. More details about MANF scheme can be checked below.
UGC MANF Eligibility Criteria
The MANF fellowship scheme is applicable to the following students –
- MANF scheme is applicable to minority community students only. Students belonging to Christian, Muslim, Sikh, and Buddhist communities come under minority communities.
- Students of minority community pursuing full-time research programmes in universities/ higher learning institutes across the country can register for MANF scheme.
- The above eligibility rule is applicable only if applicants clear CSIR NET/ JRF and UGC NET/ JRF held in June 2018 (CSIR NET/ JRF) and December 2017 (UGC NET/ JRF).
- Candidates who satisfy the above eligibility norms are eligible to register for MANF scheme.
The selected JRF candidates for MANF scheme will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs. 25,000.

UGC MANF Application Process
The eligible candidates can follow the below steps to register for MANF fellowship scheme –
- The candidates must visit the official website of UGC to apply for MANF fellowship.
- Click on ‘UGC Schemes’/ ‘Schemes’ section on the homepage
- A new page will open now
- Check for Fellowship tab on the page
- Under the fellowship tab, click on Maulana Azad National Fellowship Scheme for Minorities
- The application page will open.
- Click on ‘Apply Now’
- The candidates must enter some details in the application form such as personal details, research work and any other miscellaneous information.
- Upload the relevant documents.
- Submit the application form and take the printout of the same.
Documents to be Uploaded along with MANF Application Form
The applicants of MANF must upload the scanned copies of following documents along with the application form –
- Minority Community Certificate
- Domicile Certificate
- Passport Size Photograph and Signature
- NET/ JRF Qualifying Certificate
- PG Mark Sheet or Certificate
UGC MANF Important Date
December 31, 2018, is the last date to submit the online application form along with the above documents for MANF scheme. Candidates who fail to upload the relevant documents must note that his/ her application for MNAF will be rejected.
