UGC National Fellowship 2021-2022: Re-Invitation for Applicants with Disabilities

On behalf of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment's Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPWD), UGC National fellowship 2021-2022 is re-inviting national applications for disabled candidates. The last date of form submission is March 31, 2022. Applicants can apply online through UGC's portal at ugc.ac.in/ugc_schemes.

UGC stated in an official statement that funding is provided to eligible students with disabilities who qualify under the "Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2021,for pursuing research leading to an MPhil or Ph.D. degree.
In the fellowship program, there are 200 slots, of which 15% are reserved for candidates from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5% for candidates from the Scheduled Tribe (ST). After verification of applications, the candidates whose applications are received online at the designated portal of the UGC will be selected only on merit-based on the percentage of marks obtained by them in their post-graduate (PG) examinations.
The UGC will issue a list of candidates who have been provisionally selected after the selection process. Applicants will be able to join the fellowship after submitting verified facts or /information in their online applications.

For pursuing MPhil or Ph.D., fellowship recipients will not be eligible for any additional monetary benefits from the Government of India, State Government, or other organizations such as the UGC.
