UGC-NET Beats UPSC Coaching as the Most In-Demand Competitive Exam
The highest number of searches which amounts to 1.60 lakh in a year comes from the Tier-III cities of the country and 1.32 lakh searches by Tier-I states. Delhi still gets the highest number of calls for coaching for competitive exams.
According to a report put forward by Sulekha, an AI-based tech platform for expert services, the search for good coaching institutes for UGC NET is the highest. It sums up to around 47,898 searches.
This is followed by the search for “a good coaching institute” for the UPSC civil services (44,174) and State Public Service Commission (SPSC) with 32,911 searches.
The report also revealed that the highest number of searches which amounts to 1.60 lakh in a year comes from the Tier-III cities of the country and 1.32 lakh searches by Tier-I states. Delhi still gets the highest number of calls for coaching for competitive exams with more than 30,222 requests per year. After Delhi, stand Chennai at 15,147 and Hyderabad at 11,671.

Although the University Grants Commission-led National Eligibility Test is the most sought-after competitive exam in the country, it is ought to vary from city to city. In the capital, UGC NET (6274), police/defence recruitment exam (5470) and SSC recruitment exams (5136) are the top coaching categories. The most sought-after examinations in Chennai are SPSC (3981), railways (2331) and teaching (2145).
Founder and CEO of Sulekha, Satya Prabhakar, said that the report revealed that these traditional exams are in demand among applicants from Tier-III cities. However, people from the metro cities are the most-interested in the defence/police exam coaching.
This analysis and report and brought forth that the traditional competitive exams are still popular amongst the job aspirants in the country.
