UGC to Launch E-Samadhan Portal for Grievance Redressal
UGC E-Samadhan offers a centralized platform for students, teachers, and institutes' grievance redressal in a time-bound manner. E-Samadhan will be launched in the first week of September 2022.
UGC E-Samadhan, as its name suggests, is an online centralized portal set up by the University Grants Commission (UGC) dedicated to addressing and resolving grievances from students as well as teaching & non-teaching staff. UGC will launch E-Samadhan Portal in the First Week of September 2022. The commission also aims to make the system more transparent by the use of E-Samadhan and thus prevent unfair practices in the higher educational institutes.
Through E-Samadhan, UGC offers time-bound redressal of the raised grievances. All student-related issues will be resolved within a maximum of 10 days and other teaching or institute-related matters will be addressed within 15 to 20 days. The portal is also to cluster all grievances/complaints in one place instead of the current scattered mechanism.
Speaking about it, the Chairman of UGC, Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, said, “UGC has until now provided various mechanisms but because of non-availability of a single-window system, the stakeholders were lodging multiple grievances at various portals. Given that, the redressal mechanism was working less efficiently.”

UGC E-Samadhan Stakeholders
The stakeholders in UGC E-Samadhan are students, staff, and institutions. There are as many as 3.8 crore students, 15 lakh teachers, 42,343 colleges, and 1,043 universities acting as stakeholders in E-Samadhan. The grievance registration by these stakeholders can simply be done online using their email address or by calling toll-free on 1800-111-656.
In the following time-bound manner, the grievances of the stakeholders will be resolved:

Aside from this, UGC recently published a circular stating if a student withdraws from a particular institute or course before October 31, 2022, the student will get a full refund of fees. Also, the institute will also return all original certificates submitted during admission.
