The new medical seats will benefit the aspirants who cleared NEET-PG examination which was held in December 2016. However, Junior Doctors Association of Telangana claimed that the approval of new medical courses does not merely guarantee recognition from Medical Council of India. There are various PG medical colleges across the state where medical practitioners or students are unable to practice as their courses are not yet recognised by Medical Council of India.
The association further claimed that medicos do not have the right to practice their speciality unless they register their degrees with the State Medical Council. Therefore, the association is hopeful that MCI will grant recognition to newly introduced courses.
