University of Hyderabad becomes a Member of USR Alliance
UoH becomes a member of USR Alliance. The objective of the alliance is to promote USR in Higher Education Institutions in Asia and to collaborate in organising an international conference in Asia University, Taiwan in 2019-20.
UoH (University of Hyderabad) has become a member of USR Alliance along with Taiwan, Asia University, & Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Israel. The collaboration aims to promote URS higher education in Asia and conduct international conferences in Asia University Taiwan in 2019-20. The alliance was signed during a visit of UoH Vice-Chancellor, Prof Appa Rao Podile, and the director, Prof J Prabhakar Rao.
There are many other universities aside from UoH who have also signed up with the USR Alliance such as Taiwan Academician, National University Corporation Kochi University, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Indonesia, Japan, NOVA University Lisbon, Portugal.& China Medical University.
During the event, Professor Podile made a presentation on UoH and USR. In which he explained the country's overall higher education scenario, structures, and mechanisms for effective governance. Further, he also talked about the language policies in a multilingual context on India experience. He spoke about the relevance and challenges in the implementation like language policy to defend the Multilingualism & Multiculturalism in India.

During the event, UoH & Asia University signed an MoU. In which Asia University will be offering a teacher to teach the Mandarin Language in the Centre for Study of Foreign Languages from 1st, July. Aside from these three UoH students will be visiting Asia University for three months in the context of the Taiwan Experience Education (TEEP) program. The UoH said that the programs of teaching and student exchange will soon be implemented.
