University of Hyderabad signs MoU with France Varsity
The University of Hyderabad won the respected ‘University of the Year (in existence for over 30 Years)’ award on Thursday in New Delhi from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
In order to expedite the exchange of faculty and students between the University of Hyderabad (UoH) and University of Bordeaux, the two have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
UoH and the University of Bordeaux will consider possible joint supervision, joint research projects and student and faculty exchanges in the time to come. This is for the students that undergo the exchange program.
The UoH delegation of faculty, led by Professor Appa Rao who is the Vice-Chancellor of the university is putting in an appearance at a conference ‘Plants with health benefits and Biomolecules of Interest. This is a three-day international conference that is being conducted at France’s University of Bordeaux.
Topics like vegetal extraction for production and quantification, organic and conventional production of plants with health benefits and objective for the utilisation of metabolomics of plant-based items among other topics are to be featured in the conference.

The conference will also be attended by few other faculty of UoH including Director of International Affairs Professor N.Siva Kumar, Professors G. Padmaja, M.J. Swamy, T. Sarada, A.S. Raghavendra, and Dr. Irfan Ghazi.
The University of Hyderabad has earned the esteemed ‘University of the Year (in existence for over 30 Years)’ award on Thursday in New Delhi from the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
The evaluation was done on the basis of an assessment by academics, policymakers, industry leaders, after which the university was asked to prepare a presentation before the jury. This was conducted at the FICCI’s 6th Higher Education Excellence Awards, 2019 which took into consideration the university’s mission and vision, outcome metrics, new initiatives, rankings, awards and honours, future plans and collaborations.

Awards like this contribute to pushing the University to serve the nation in an even better way as leading public and multidisciplinary institution, said Prof Appa Rao.
