University of Mumbai Exams: Aspirants of Law College, Mumbai to Benefit from Extra Classes

Law college aspirants in Mumbai have been anxious regarding the delay in admissions. The whole academic schedule has become quite impossible to manage. Considering this, some law colleges in Mumbai have decided to offer extra classes in order to help students prepare for examinations.

The semester exams for first-year students of the three-year and five-year law courses have been scheduled at the end of November and early December by the University of Mumbai. This has made the chaos even worse as the law colleges are now required to fit a regular 90 working-day semester into a month of classes.

To counter the shortage of days, University National Law School has collaborated with the Citizen’s Forum for Change to deal with the time shortage and planning to conduct counseling sessions and lectures for aspiring students who are waiting for admissions. The college is planning to announce fee structure for both LLB and BLS aspirants.

The principal of a law college in Navi Mumbai, U K Nambiar said that since formal lectures are speculated to begin in November, they will have less than 30 days to cover the course and extra classes are much needed.

K C Law College is also following suit and will conduct extra classes to cover up. The Principal, Sunita Khariwal said, “We are planning to start classes for interested students. The classes will cover the basic foundation for four subjects, we plan to start right away.”

She also said that extra classes will last till the formal lectures begin and will help students to catch up since the session is going way behind the decided schedule.

However, New Law School will begin extra classes once the admission process is completed.

Narayan Rajadhyaksha, Principal of New Law School said that it won’t be right to conduct classes for aspirants considering the uncertainty of their admissions. He also informed that the college will scrape Diwali vacations in order to catch up with the syllabus and help students prepare for exams.

Observing the admission events and the delayed process, he also expects that the semester exams will most probably be pushed back in order to help students accommodate.
