As per the percentage of marks that the students have secured in the board exam, their division is decided. The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad will be releasing the mark sheet of the students on its official website at upmsp.edu.in. The students can easily check out the division that they have been awarded by looking at their mark sheet. The UPMSP evaluates the performance of the students based on the CCE pattern. The students appeared for their theory exams for 70 marks and internal or practical exams for 30 marks under the CCE pattern. The students are required to score a total of 33% in order to successfully pass the board exam. In case the students fail to secure the minimum number of marks then they will be allowed to give an improvement exam.

Under the division system, there are a total of 4 divisions. If the students score 75% marks then they are considered for distinction which is the topmost division followed by the first division which requires a minimum of 60% of marks. Then, the other categorized divisions are the second and third divisions. The students who do not secure any of the mentioned divisions are considered as failed. According to the division pattern, the total number of marks allotted for the UP Board 10th Exams is 500 so considering that if the students are scoring 300 to 375 marks then they will be considered to have gotten the first division. If these students are getting more than 375 marks then they will be considered to have got the distinction.
