UP Board Exams Scheduled to Begin from 16th February 2017
Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has announced the dates of class 10th and 12th examinations for the year 2017.
It is time for brisk preparation for students appearing in the class 10th and 12th examination of Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education as the board has announced the dates of examinations for the 2017 session.

- Class 10 exams will commence from February 16, 2017, and will continue till March 6, 2017.
- Class 12 exams will start from February 16, 2017, and will continue till March 20, 2017.
- Around 60 lakhs students will appear for the written examination.
- There are 9121 secondary schools under the board
In the wake of the Assembly election of the state, the examinations have to be completed before the commencement of the election process.
In 2016, the final school and intermediate examinations for the state board began from 18 February. Similarly, in 2015, the board exams began from 19 February.
Now the Government wants the teachers to be free from the exam duties as invigilators before the elections as they will be entrusted with the election duty.

However, the date sheet for the examinations is yet to be released. All the examinations are conducted statewide for school students studying in 10th and 12th standard, on the same lines of annual board examinations of the Indian Council of Secondary Examination (ICSE) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The main functions of the board are to grant recognition to the aspiring schools, to prescribe textbooks and determine the courses for high school and intermediate level. Additionally, it also conducts 10th and 12th standard examination and provides equivalence to the examinations conducted by other Boards.
The Election Commission of India (EC) is expected to release the elections scheduled in various states, like Punjab, Goa and Uttar Pradesh in the next couple of months.
