UP Board Exams 2019: Over 6.45 Lakh Students Skip Exam
UP Board Exams begin amid tight security on February 7, 2019, close to 6.45 lakh students skip exams until February 28, 2019.
The Uttar Pradesh Board Exams for the year 2019 began on February 07, 2019. Surprisingly, over 6.45 lakh students skipped the examination until February 28, 2019. Sources say that the strict measures to regulate cheating and malpractices in the examination are the major reasons for the huge number of absentees. This year, CCTV cameras were installed in all the examination for strict monitoring. The board exams for Class 10 and Class 12 will continue until March 02, 2019.
UP Board Secretary, Neena Srivastav revealed that 2,72,452 students skipped the exam on Day 3. For the first time, a huge number of students skipped the exam on a day, he added.

This year, the state government even deployed STF and local intelligence agencies to ensure copy free examination.

Even though the state government took enough measures for smooth conduct of exam, instances of mass cheating were registered in a few exam centres. Suspected people or relatives of the students were found in the surroundings of the exam centre. It was observed that these people were trying to pass cheat slips.
On the other hand, the officials of the exam centre claimed that the exam centre is hypersensitive, and they need an extra police force to regulate mass cheating.

51 students were expelled from the exams so far. These students were allegedly found to be cheating during the exam.
