UP Govt. to Introduce ‘Startup’ as a subject in Colleges and Universities
Uttar Pradesh government is inclined to introduce ‘Startup’ as a subject in colleges and universities with a purpose to encourage young entrepreneurs in the state.
Uttar Pradesh government confirmed that it would introduce ‘Startup’ as a subject in colleges and universities. The purpose to introduce the course would be to encourage young entrepreneurs in the state. According to the statement released by the government, the Chief Minister of the State Yogi Adityanath wishes to make youth job providers and not just job seekers.
The government has also decided to introduce a new policy through which students will get one- year study leave after graduate and post-graduate courses. According to the statement, students can undertake internships during the study leave.

The government will also encourage students to set up their own enterprises. Under this programme, one lakh students of the first year will be included. Each student will get an allowance of Rs.2,500 per month during the internship.
A corpus fund has been started by the government with the help of SIDBI for this purpose. According to the statement, the state and SIDBI had signed an MoU and the CM handed over Rs 15 crore as the first instalment for the ‘UP start-up fund’.
The Chief Minister has also asked the officials to prepare policies and make the use of opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry and explore possibilities in pharma, herbal medicines and medical equipment. He also asked them to prepare reports in consultation with experts on the proposal to set up a pharma park and medical device park in the state.
Adityanath said that the state has some well-known institutes and they should make the maximum utilization of their abilities The Pharma Park and Pharma Device Park must be connected and he said that he has already requested the Centre for pharma park and medical Device Park for the same. He asked officials to state preparation for the same as soon as possible.

According to the statement of state government, the centre has announced the construction of parks for pharma and medical equipment industries in the month of March and the state will receive the concession for the same
