UP Govt. to Set Up Six New AIIMS and 25 New Medical Colleges
Minister of Technical and Medical Education of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Ashutosh Tondon Gopalji revealed that the state government has already started the groundwork on the same.
The government of Uttar Pradesh is planning to set up six new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and 25 new medical colleges across the state. Currently, the state government is in search of locations to set up these new institutes. The proposal for the establishment of these institutes will be sent to the centre after finalizing the locations. Minister of Technical and Medical Education of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Ashutosh Tondon Gopalji revealed that the state government has already started the groundwork on the same.

He further explained that there is a need to establish new medical institutes in the state due to the rapid increase in population and growing health care needs of people. Answering a question regarding the quality of education in technical institutes across the state, he said that the government will improve the quality of education in all areas. The vacant teaching positions in various institutes across the state will be filled soon. Currently, the government has taken steps to fill 500 vacant teaching positions before the commencement of the new academic session.

He also assured that the students studying in various institutes would get better employment opportunities. The government is focusing more on quality education in technical, management and other institutes so that the skills of students are developed in a holistic way.
Mr. Ashutosh also mentioned that the government would organize job fairs for engineering and management graduates to increase employability rate of the state. The infrastructure facilities in polytechnic colleges will be improved and hostel facility will be provided for students who enroll in polytechnic colleges.
