UPSC CDS (1) 2022 Concluded: What next?
UPSC CDS 1 paper has been concluded and candidates are advised to start preparing for the next stage of the exam which is the SSB interview.
UPSC CDS (1) 2022 Exam: After the conclusion of the exam, the authority will release the result. Candidates who will qualify in the written test will have to register online on the Indian Army Recruiting website joinindianarmy.nic.in. Based on the registrations received, the authority will release the date and time for SSB time. Candidates should prepare for the second round while waiting for the results. If the candidate is unsure about their results or believes they will receive low marks, those applicants must begin studying for the next CDS exam immediately.
Stages in UPSC CDS Exam
Stage 1: Candidates will be required to take a written exam.
Stage 2: Candidates who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an interview.
Stage 3: A final merit list will be created based on their written and interview processes.
Stage 4: Successful candidates will be called for a medical examination, followed by a document verification round for those who pass.
In the CDS, qualifying for the interview is more difficult than passing the written exam. This interview will last five days. To prepare for this round, students can participate in mock interviews on a daily basis. Keep up with current events, issues, and updates, among other things. Every day, read an English newspaper and watch SSB-related videos. If any of your seniors, acquaintances, or family have faced the interview before, seek advice from them.
SSB Interview/ Personality Test
Only those who pass the written exam will be considered for the UPSC CDS interview round. It will be divided into two stages, as follows:
Stage I: Candidates will undertake a Picture Perception and Description Test, which will primarily assess intelligence and personality.
Stage II: The second stage comprises of a four-day assessment that assesses candidates' motivation for this job, physical health, and confidence in representing India's defense system.
UPSC CDS Officer Intelligence Rating
The CDS Interview 2022 Stage 2 selection process begins with the Officer Intelligence Rating test. There are two sections to the test: verbal reasoning and nonverbal reasoning. To pass this test, candidates must answer 55-60 questions from both parts.
UPSC CDS (Picture Perception and Description Test)
The memory retention and comprehension skills of the candidate are tested in this segment of the Stage 1 CDS Interview. This screening exam is entertaining to do because candidates have only 30 seconds to look at a fuzzy image and then three minutes to explain it. In this limited time frame, candidates must focus on these important parameters:
- Character
- Age
- Sex
- Mood
- Past (what happened soon before the click in the picture scenario)
- Present (what events currently take place)
- Future (in the illustration, what will happen next)

What after the UPSC CDS SSB Interview?
The candidate is validated when the CDS 2022 interview process is finished, which includes document verification. After the interview, candidates who pass must bring their original documents, as well as two self-attested copies, to the SSC (Services Selection Center). The following is a list of documents that must be brought with you when you are selected.
- Qualification Certificates
- Identity Verification (Pan Card, Aadhar Card, Voter ID, etc.)
- Photographs in Passport Size
- Certificate of Category for the Reserved Category Candidates
- Birth Certificate as Proof of Residence
The medical examination is the final but most important step. This process determines whether the selected candidate is physically capable of serving in the officer cadre. This is a mandatory confirmation. Before being considered for final employment, you must complete all verification procedures.
