UPSC CDS Exam: Pune Girl Emerges Topper
- UPSC declared the final results of CDS exam last week.
- Nirpun Datta is the topper among boys, while Shruti Vinod Shrikhande is the topper among girls.
UPSC released the final results of UPSC Combined Defence Services (CDS) I Written Exam and Interview for entry to OTA (Officers Training Academy). The results are available on the official portal of UPSC. A total of 232 candidates have qualified in the CDS final exam.
A final-year student at ILS (Indian Law Society) Law College, Shruti Vinod Shrikhande has emerged as the topper of UPSC CDS exam. She is also an alumnus of the Army Public School, located in Pune. The 22-year-old Shruti is the topper among girls, while, Nirpun Datta is the topper among boys.

Expressing his happiness, Shruti’s father Brigadier Vinod Shrikhande said that his daughter worked very hard to achieve her dream.
Shruti Vinod Shrikhande is curious to join SSC (Short Service Commission). It has been her dream to join SSC since she was at Army Public School. Following the footsteps of her father, Shruti also aimed to join Armed Forces. Her father motivated and supported Shruti to join Armed Forces. Shruti shared that her father used to work in remote areas, and he had never been at home for a long period. However, he used to share his experiences while working in those remote locations, she added.

UPSC CDS exam took place for the admission to 21st Short Service Commission (Women) and 107th Short Service Commission (Men) course, commencing in April 2018.
UPSC conducts civil services exam, which is considered as one of the toughest exams in India.
