UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2018: Exam Over, Results Expected in July
- UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2018 notification released on February 7, 2018.
- UPSC Prelims Exam 2018 took place on June 3, 2018.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the official notification for UPSC Civil Services Preliminary (Prelims) Exam 2018 on February 07, 2018. The official notification and the schedule of the Prelims exam are uploaded on the official website of UPSC. Aspirants can also check the same on CollegeDekho.

According to the UPSC Exam Calendar 2018, the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam was conducted on June 03, 2018, and results for the same are expected in the month of July.
UPSC Prelims Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates applying to Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) must be citizens of India.
- Candidates who hold an Undergraduate degree in any stream can register for UPSC Prelims.
- Candidates who are pursuing final-year UG degree can also register for UPSC prelims.
- The lower age limit of the candidates is 21 years and the upper age limit is 32 years as on August 01, 2018.
- SC/ST candidates will have five-years relaxation on upper age limit.
UPSC Prelims Application Process:
- For filling and submitting the online application, the candidates have to visit UPSC Online website.
- After visiting the official website, click on Online Registration
- Firstly, complete Part I registration with all basic details, and then proceed with Part II registration.
- During Part II registration, the candidates will have to pay the prescribed exam fee either in online mode or offline (through SBI Challan).
- Upload the scanned copies of Photograph and Signature (Size must be less than 40KB)
- Sumit the application and take the printout.
Important Dates:
- The application process for Civil Services Prelims 2018 ended on March 06, 2018.
- The admit card for Civil Services Prelims 2018 was released on May 07, 2018.
- The Civil Services Prelims 2018 exam was conducted on June 03, 2018.
- The Civil Services Prelims 2018 result will be out in July 2018.
About UPSC Prelims Exam:
UPSC Prelims Exam is just a screening test, and it is mandatory to qualify this exam to be eligible for UPSC Mains Exam.
The preliminary exam has two papers including: -
- General Studies (Paper I)
- Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT – Paper II)
All the questions in UPSC Prelims are objective in nature. For every wrong answer, there is a negative mark of 0.83. However, Problem Solving and Decision Making section in Paper II do not have negative marking. Candidates have to appear for both Papers in UPSC Prelims.

UPSC Mains Exam is scheduled to be conducted on September 28, 2018.
