UPSC 2018 Results Highlights
A total number of 759 candidates, out of which 577 are males and 182 are females, have been recommended by the UPSC to be appointed under various Services such as Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) etc.
This time, the UPSC Civil Services 2018topper is Kanishak Kataria from Jaipur, Rajasthan is a Data Scientist at qplum, Bangalore. Previously he took Admissions in IIT Bombay by topping JEE Advanced in Scheduled Caste (SC) Category. He completed his bachelors in Computer science Engineering from IIT Bombay.
On the other hand, the female topper Srushti Jayant Deshmukh who ranked 5th said that she did not take any coaching but studied over the internet mostly. She has done Bachelors of Engineering in Chemical Engineering Specialisation from Rajiv Gandhi Prodyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal.

Among the top 10 candidates of UPSC CS 2018, 7 are men and 3 are women. These candidates mainly belong to the engineering, science, law, management and commerce backgrounds and have graduated from the top institutes mostly IITs. Also, there are students from NITs, DU, SPPU, NLU, ICAI etc.

The UPSC Prelims were held on 3th June 2018 in which more than 4.5 lakh candidates appeared. Out of these, around 13,000 candidates further qualified for the Civil Services Main Exam 2018 that was held from 28th September. Finally, in the third stage, a total of 1,994 candidates appeared in the personality test round which was conducted on 11th February 2018.
