The UPSC personality test which had been postponed due to COVID-19 is now going on amid adequate safety measures in place. Due to COVID-19, since the normal mode of transportation is not available such as flight and trains, the UPSC has decided to reimburse the lowest 'to and fro airfare' for the candidates. UPSC is also assisting the candidates with the lodging and transport facilities and is providing a 'Sealed Kit' to all the candidates which include a face shield, mask, a sanitiser bottle and hand gloves. Social distancing is also being strictly followed at the interview centres.

UPSC had postponed the personality test (interviews) of the civil services candidates exam 2019 to ensure the safety of everyone amid coronavirus outbreak. A special meeting of the commission took place on April 15, 2020, to discuss and review the situation which has arisen due to COVID-19. The personality test date which was decided was July 20, 2020, onward.

UPSC Civil Services (IAS) exam 2019 revised interview schedule was released on June 19, 2020. The remaining IAS interviews are scheduled between July 20 and will end on July 30. The interviews of 623 candidates were left because of the decision and now UPSC has scheduled the interview of more than 60 candidates per day and there are ten interview boards in UPSC. If all of them are functional then each board will interview 6 candidates in a day, three in the morning and three in the afternoon.

The new dates for the interview have been announced. Due to the current situation caused by COVID-19, the UPSC had deferred the personality tests of the civil services (main) exam candidates, scheduled to be conducted from March 23, 2020, to April 3, 2020, until further notice, as per the statement.

The UPSC interview is conducted in the UPSC premises at Dholpur House in New Delhi. All the candidates will need to travel to New Delhi to appear for the UPSC IAS interview. The interview is the last stage of the IAS selection process. Once the interviews have been conducted, the IAS results will be declared within ten to fifteen days after that.

The NDA-1 exam new date has also been announced. It will be conducted on September 6, 2020. UPSC conducts the civil services exam on an annual basis in three stages - Prelims, Main and Interview i.e Personality Test to select officers for the post of IPS, IFS and IAS. Civil Services Exam is one of the most reputed competitive exams in India and is also seen as one of the toughest exams due to the high-difficulty level. The selection ratio is also quite low. The interview is the final stage of the Civil Services exam and plays an integral role in the final selection of the candidates.
