Urvashi Makkar Emerges as the Commerce Topper of HBSE Class 12 Exams
- Haryana Board Class 12 examination topped by Karnal’s Urvashi Makkar in commerce stream.
- She studied atVijeta Public Senior Secondary School, Karnal and scored 490 marks out of 500.
- Urvashi aspires to become an IAS Officer.
Karnal’s Urvashi Makkar has emerged as the topper of commerce stream in the Haryana Board Class 12 examination. Urvashi did her schooling from the Vijeta Public Senior Secondary School, Karnal and scored 490 marks out of 500. The result of HBSE board was announced on Thursday, May 19.
She bagged the third position in the state considering all the three streams. Making it big in the HBSE Class 12 exams was not Urvashi’s ultimate goal. She aspires to become an IAS Officer and will now focus on preparing for the Civil Service Exams.
Talking about her preparation, Urvashi said that she used to study for 10 hours a day but wasn’t expecting such a good score. She gave the credit of her success to her teachers and family as they supported her throughout her preparation.

Urvashi comes from a very humble background and lives with her parents and two siblings in a single bedroom house. Despite the limited resources, her parents ensured that her education continues smoothly.
Urvashi’s father Vijay Kumar Makkar is ecstatic with her success. He also said that his elder son and daughter are doing CA and now his daughter has made the state proud with her performance. He also said that all three of his children pursued commerce stream as he couldn’t afford new books every year.

Urvashi now has the support of all her family in pursuing her dream. Her father added that he will make sure that Urvashi gets all that she needs in order to become an IAS Officer.
