US Visa Day to be Conducted on 6 June; Check Visa Guidelines Here

The Visa Day for this year will be held on 6 June 2018. George H Hogeman US Consul - General has advised students to carefully listen to the questions asked during the visa interview. According to him, it is best to listen carefully to questions asked by visa officers and reply to the questions with real answers rather than prepared speech.
On the Visa Day on 6 June, US Embassy in Delhi and its four consulates- Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata will be open exclusively to adjudicate visa applications from Indian students who are keen to pursue their higher education in the United States of America. As per the reports, one out of six international students in the USA belongs to India and there is no denial in the fact that the US is the foremost choice of Indian students when it comes to pursuing higher studies.

Hogeman, during his interaction, said that the bedrock of the US - India relation is people-to-people relationships which form the base for a student visa and higher education plays a vital role in the relationship between India and US. The student visa interview process may take place for 30 minutes and usually, students are asked about the course chosen, financial plan, and the reason for choosing the US for higher education. The team has also warned the students not to trust fraudulent agents as no one can guarantee a visa. However, if a student is denied visa they should introspect and learn from the experience.

Elizabeth Lawrence, Fraud Prevention Manager US Embassy said that students are advised to trust and use resources available with EducationVisa, She also said that US Embassy does not require any documents during the visa interview. However, if the students are bringing any, they should make sure they are all original and not fake. If any student is found providing counterfeited certificated may be barred from applying for visa forever.
