Vijayawada Schools Holiday 3 September 2024 due to Rain: The Andhra Pradesh government has announced school holidays on September 2 in many districts. CM Chandrababu Naidu has ordered all educational institutes in the state to give holidays in case of heavy rains. As flood situation persists in Vijayawada and Amaravati, school holidays are likely for all primary and secondary government, aided, and private management schools to safeguard students from extremely heavy rainfall and the flood situations in the past few days in Vijayawada.

In Vijayawada, there are waterlogged roads and widespread flooding even today. The students are unable to enter the school premises as they are flooded, and the school buildings are in a worn-out state making it unsafe for conducting classes. Due to the landslide at Moghalrajpuram in Vijayawada, four people were injured, and five were killed in the last few days. Due to this, the Visakhapatnam district education department, along with District Collector Harendhir Prasad has decided to keep the schools shut tomorrow as well. Even in the NTR district, Collector Srujana has announced holidays due to the Vijayawada flood situation.
IMD predicts that the weather is expected to be the same as September 2, and hence schools will remain closed on September 3 as well.
