VIT-AP VITopia 2018 to Encourage Sports and Cultural Activities
- The first edition of VIT-AP cultural and sports carnival 'VITopia 2018' took place from February 3 to 09, 2018.

Vellore Institute of Technology (deemed-to-be university), Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) organised its first edition of sports and cultural carnival ‘VITopia 2018’ from February 03 to February 09, 2018. Thousands of students across the country took part in various competitions organised as a part of the event.
Addressing the students at the valedictory session of VITopia 2018, AP HRD Minister, Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao stated that VIT-AP will soon produce global leaders. He appreciated the efforts of VIT management for completing the construction of permanent campus within six months of the allocation of land by the state government.

Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao appreciated VIT-AP for encouraging students to take part in cultural and sports activities. Confining the students only to classrooms and academics will not make them champions and it is necessary for the students to be exposed to all sectors. The state government is giving more importance to sports and he urged VIT-AP to produce national players.
He further advised students not to take extreme steps for the petty issues and urged them to become role models to others.

Addressing the students, Vice Chancellor of VIT AP, Dr. G Viswanathan indicated that VIT-AP is bestowed with world-class infrastructure. The premier deemed university is committed to producing more sensible, ethical, honest and responsible citizens. The institute believes in overall development of students, that is essential for the betterment of the nation, he highlighted.
On this occasion, AP HRD Minister released the souvenir of VITopia 2018. Students enthralled the audience with their stunning performances in cultural programmes.
