WB TET 2022: WBBPE Decides to Video-Record Recruitment Process to Ensure Complete Transparency

WB TET 2022: Following the Teacher Recruitment scam, the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) has decided to video-record the entire state recruitment process to maintain complete transparency.

WB TET 2022 Recruitment Process to be Video-Recorded 

As per the statements of sources from the WB Education Department, various stages of the recruitment process starting from the WB TET 2022 written exam and marking to interview and counselling will be video-recorded. 

WBBPE becomes the first-ever Teacher Recruitment autonomous body to consent to this monitoring system in bringing about total transparency in the selection process. The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) is expected to follow the same path in future to ensure 100% clarity.

This iconic move was introduced when Partha Chatterjee, former State Education Minister & Trinamool Congress Legislator, Manik Bhattacharjee, former WBPEE President, and other top WBSSC officials are in judicial and CBI custody. 

As mentioned in the charge sheets, in several cases, marks as high as 53 have been rewarded to ineligible candidates submitting blank OMR. The incident has stirred endless controversies and unrest among other applicants, particularly those protesting against it. But with the implementation of the video recording in the current recruitment system, there will be no instances or scope for such irregularities, stated an official of the West Bengal Education Department. 

Gautam Pal, current Chairman of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education, claimed in a recent press conference that making the WB TET 2022 recruitment process 100% ethical and free of corruption would be the top priority.
