The state government has declared a West Bengal School Holiday for seven districts in West Bengal until October 26 due to Cyclone Dana. Schools in affected areas shall remain closed.
West Bengal School Holiday: As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), India will be hit by Cyclone Dana on the eastern coast on October 23, 2024, and will landfall in West Bengal on October 24 to 25, 2024. IMD states that several districts in West Bengal will be severely affected, and to ensure the safety of the students, a West Bengal School Holiday has been declared from October 23 to 26, 2024, in the affected areas only. The recent reports suggest that seven districts in West Bengal will be affected by Cyclone Dana and will remain closed in the event of its landfall. Further, if there is any change in the course of the cyclone, measures shall be taken accordingly.
