Predict My College

JEE Main results are published by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in percentiles. Candidates must note that JEE Main percentile scores do not reflect the actual mark of the candidates, but instead normalised grades. In addition to determining the JEE Advanced cut-off score, the JEE Main score also decides the JEE main ranks in 2022. JEE consists of two sessions, and the difficulty level of the questions may differ between sessions. In order to overcome this barrier, normalization is accepted. The NTA formula calculates the normalised scores based on comparative scores rather than the actual marks.

To calculate percentile scores in Chemistry, Math, and Physics, NTA uses the normalisation formula. Percentiles of 100 will be assigned to the highest scores in each section. The JEE Main merit list is also prepared using this percentile score. There are seven decimal places in the percentile score in order to avoid ties between applicants. It is only after the normalisation process that the final JEE Main percentile is calculated. Scores are calculated on a scale of 100 to 0 for each session.
