Latest Changes in CAT Exam Pattern
The CAT exam pattern underwent significant revisions in 2020. Notably, the total exam duration was shortened from 180 to 120 minutes, and the sectional time limit for each section was reduced from 60 to 40 minutes. Additionally, the number of exam slots was increased from two to three, offering more flexibility to candidates. Alongside the reduction in exam duration, the total number of questions was also decreased, with the CAT 2020 question paper featuring only 76 questions in total.
Despite these changes, the exam structure remained unchanged, comprising three sections: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. In CAT 2021, the pattern was further modified, reducing the number of questions to 66. These modifications aimed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the CAT exam while retaining its fundamental structure.
