Will JEE Main 2023 Session 1 be conducted in January?
NTA has not yet declared an official date for JEE Main 2023 Session 1 but based on previous years' trends, know here if JEE Main 2023 will be conducted in January 2023 or not.
JEE Main 2023: Exam dates speculation is being made on multiple platforms online but it is to be noted that the National Testing Agency (NTA), the conducting authority of the examination, has not yet conveyed the examination date. The agency has also not released the official notification yet, although based on the pre-COVID trends, the notification is likely to be out by November 2022.
As per the official statements from the NTA, it aims to restore the regular academic sessions by this year, i.e., bring the academic timelines of the examination as before the pandemic. If this and previous years’ trends are considered, it is likely that the first session of JEE Main 2023 will be conducted in January 2023.

NTA has taken charge of conducting JEE Main examination since 2019, before which, CBSE used to conduct it. Thus, past trends are mentioned only until 2019, which can be checked in the table below:

As it can be seen, in the pre-pandemic months of 2019 and 2020, JEE Main Session 1 commenced by the first week of January. However, due to COVID-19, it was extended to the last weeks of February and June in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Therefore, if NTA is to restore the previous academic sessions, JEE Main 2023 exam date will fall in January 2023, probably by the first/second week itself. However, if the 2023 session faces a delay due to the same in 2022, JEE Main 2023 first attempt may also be conducted in February 2023 or late January 2023.
