With multiple regions hit by torrential rain and flood, NEET 2022 aspirants are having a tough time travelling to the allotted NTA NEET exam centres. The unforeseen weather has left many candidates affected and unsure if they will indeed be able to reach the venue on time. Some of the cities majorly affected by the floods include Nagpur, Gadchiroli, and Chandrapur among others.

NTA NEET 2022 Exam is to be conducted today, July 17, from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM across 497 cities in India. NEET Admit card was released on July 12 in PDF format on the official website of NTA – neet.nta.nic.in. Over 18 lakh aspirants are expected to appear for the entrance exam.

As per the NTA NEET guidelines mentioned on the website and NEET 2022 hall ticket, all candidates must report to the allotted exam centres at least an hour before the scheduled time. The last entry time is 1:30 PM. However, currently, amid reports of heavy rain and flood in several states across the country, many aspirants are unable to reach the NEET exam centres. Road connectivity and public transportation have been disrupted in many regions due to unfavourable weather conditions, making it difficult to commute and threatening the fate of students appearing from these locations.

Nearly 1,600 candidates from Gadchiroli are taking the NEET 2022 exam. With the help of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) students from Sironcha, Aheri, Koparali, Jaffrabad and adjoining regions were moved to Gadchiroli. Approximately 43 trips were made from various parts of South Gadchiroli ferrying nearly 350 students to their destinations, including Chandrapur.

CollegeDekho conducted a poll on Twitter to see the reaction regarding NEET aspirants facing a tough time reaching the exam centre.

Out of the 118 repsonses received so far, 60.2% people think students might not get another chance to appear while 39.8% think students could get another chance.

As per majority of the Twitterati, candidates failing to make it to the NEET 2022 exam centre on time, may not have a second chance.

Although, whether or not these candidates will be given another opportunity to take the NEET 2022 exam and redeem themselves, is yet to be seen.

Candidates appearing for the NTA NEET 2022 today are advised to carry all the essential documents and follow the NEET 2022 exam day instructions as specified. The NEET 2022 result is expected to be released in August. NTA will announce the confirmed dates in due course.

Earlier, despite repeated requests by students and parents to postpone NEET UG 2022, the National Testing Agency rejected the plea to reschedule the exam date.
