Will NEET PG 2023 exam be postponed?
NEET PG 2023 aspirants are demanding to postpone the exam by at least 6-8 weeks and extend the internship deadline till July 31. NMC is yet to respond on the demands made by PG medical aspirants.
NEET PG 2023 is scheduled to be conducted on March 5, and the demand for NEET PG 2023 exam date postponement has increased from various sections of aspirants. Previously, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences extended the internship completion deadline to June 30, 2023. However, several aspirants from MP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh are still ineligible to submit the NEET PG application form 2023 as they will not be able to complete the internship as per the revised deadline specified by NBEMS. As per sources, 8,000 interns are still ineligible to appear for NEET PG 2023.
NEET PG 2023 aspirants expressed their grief on social media platforms that the gap between the exam date and internship completion is almost four months. To initiate the NEET PG counselling process for the year 2023, a student must complete the internship. Therefore, there is possibility of conducting the counselling process in July is high as the internship deadline has been extended till June 30. Therefore, the candidates demand NBE postpone the exam as the postponement is not going to impact the academic timelines.
The aspirants of NEET PG 2023 further demand that the exam can be postponed by 6-8 weeks and the internship deadline can be extended till July 31 to make 8,000 interns eligible for the exam. A request has also been made to National Medical Commission in this regard.

NMC is yet to respond to the demands made by the NEET PG 2023 aspirants. In 2022, NEET PG was postponed till May, and the reasons for the postponement were more or less similar to the issues that are being faced by 2023 aspirants. Last year, the matter even reached Supreme Court.
NMC’s intention is to bring the academic session for PG medical courses on track, and the chances of postponing NEET PG 2023 seem limited as of now. However, conducting NEET PG counselling 2023 is not possible till the internship deadline. There is a possibility that NMC might look into the matter and address the demands made by students.
