Will there be 25% IPE Weightage for AP EAMCET 2023?
AP EAMCET IPE method offers Intermediate examinations 25% weightage and AP EAMCET scores 75% weightage for calculating AP EAMCET rankings. Find out if it will be valid for AP EAMCET 2023 here.
AP EAMCET 2023: Before the academic year 2020-21, for calculation of AP EAMCET ranks, a 25% weightage was given to the Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) while the rest 75% belonged to the entrance examination. Because of the non-conduct of the intermediate (10+2 level) exam during the pandemic, the 75-25 weightage criterion was scraped for that year and the complete weightage for allocation of ranks was placed with AP EAMCET exam.
However, in AY 2021-22, the intermediate examinations were conducted for Class 12 but for this batch, Class 11 exams were not conducted because of the pandemic. Hence, the decision of the 25% IPE weightage in AP EAMCET 2022 was given to AP state government instead of APSCHE. When APSCHE released the information bulletin last year, it wrote, “25% weightage to Intermediate (10+2) will be based on the decision of the AP State Government.” The government later issued a notice on May 11, 2022, scraping the 25% IPE weightage for that year.

Now, for the current AY 2022-23 batch, it remains unclear whether this 75-25 weightage will be applicable or not. For this batch, the 1st year intermediate examination was conducted and the 2nd intermediate exam is scheduled as per the pre-pandemic years. Hence, there is a possibility that the 25% weightage criteria will be brought back.
But considering the example of Telangana, the 25% IPE weightage has been completely scraped from TS EAMCET examination henceforth. AP EAMCET 2023 is more likely than not to follow a similar path in this regard. But the actual decision will be conveyed by the APSCHE and AP State Government.
