Women Enrollment at MANUU Hyderabad Witnesses A Surge
Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has seen a rise in the number of women admissions as compared to last year. MANUU is further planning to take more steps and initiatives to increase the number in the next academic year.
The initiatives taken by the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) Hyderabad have resulted in the rise of women enrollment in the college. The observation was made after the college took up the process of 33% horizontal reservation for women following which the enrollment has increased.
Women have enrolled in various courses offered by the college and the percentage has risen from 24% last year to close to 40% this year. The varsity has granted admission to approximately 2430 students, out of which 29.85% are women. The admission process of MANUU's Kashmir campus and part-time courses is still underway.
During the interview of Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor, MANUU, for a leading newspaper, he reveals that out of the total admissions 29.85% are women and this percent will definitively increase in the next academic year.

Apart from imparting education and training in vocational and technical subjects through Urdu medium, the varsity is focusing on women education in order to increase the percentage of women students in the university.
The university has also decided to give fee waiver to the women for the first semester besides an accommodation facility. It has also introduced training sessions for preparations for exams such as civil services.

The university is now planning to give need and merit-based scholarships to women who enroll in various courses. The new proposed scheme will cater to the candidate's need of tuition fees and the accommodation facilities which will be made available to them on campus. The proposal for the same is soon going to be presented in front of the Executive council for approval.
