XAT 2017 conducting body, XLRI Jamshedpur has announced that there will be some minor changes in the exam pattern.

Check out the changes below:
- XAT 2017 will comprise 72 questions instead of 78.
- The number of unattempted questions after which negative marking will be started has been reduced to 12 instead of 13.

The marking scheme has not been changed and 0.05 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer and for unattempted questions after the number exceeds 12. However, the exam structure has remained the same as last year.
Here’s the exam structure of XAT 2017:
Part 1 (170 minutes):

The authorities have also notified that every question carries equal marks and negative marking is applicable to every section. Also, negative marking for unattempted questions will be proportionately applied to all the three sections.
Two questions have been deducted from every section as compared to XAT 2016. XLRI had introduced some major change in XAT 2016 where the negative marking for the unattempted questions was implemented for the first time.

XAT 2017 will be conducted on January 8, 2017. The exam will be conducted in single slot starting from 10 AM to 1.30 PM across various centers in 47 Indian cities. The exam will also be conducted in two international cities i.e. Dubai and Kathmandu. Result of the exam will be announced on January 31, 2017. XAT scores are accepted by 147 B-schools.
