XLRI to Organise International Meet on Competitive Assessment Methods in December
- XLRI will be organising a two-day international conference with the Centre for HRD in December 2017.
- Prof RK Premarajan, Head of HRD Centre and Prof Emeritus of Colorado State University George Thornton III will chair the meet.
XLRI, Jamshedpur is all set to host an international meet in December 2017. It is the first international meeting being organised by XLRI, and the major focus will be on use and benefits of assessment centre methods in the promotion and selection of candidates.
The Centre for HRD (Human Resource Development) of the premier B-School will organise a two-day conference on December 9 and December 10, 2017. The international conference will include two segments – ‘Virtual Sessions’ for those abroad and ‘In-Person’ events for Asian participants.
Head Professor of HRD Centre at XLRI Jamshedpur, Professor R K Premaranjan and Professor Emeritus of Colorado State University will deliberate on the benefits of diagnostic, assessment and development centre methods.

Giving details about the agenda of the international conference, Professor Premaranjan pointed that the assessment centre method is used by many organisations across the world in both public and private sectors. The professor added that the method is used for the promotion, selection and actual skill development areas.
Adding further, Professor R K Premaranjan explained that the main objective of HRM (Human Resource Management) is to achieve competitive advantage by the strategic allocation of qualified personnel. In the changing corporate world, it is highly necessary for organisations to search for more substantial and accurate forms of assessing talent and support their development.

Researchers from all over the country will share and explain their study results as well as experiences at the international conference. The conference will also involve deliberations or discussions on topics related to the theme.
