SSC CGL Tier 1 and 2 Passing Marks
: The
SSC CGL Exam 2024
will be administered in two phases (Tier 1 and Tier 2), with passing marks made available on the official website @ssc.nic.in for each stage separately. The SSC CGL Passing Marks are established based on the exam's level of difficulty, the number of vacancies released, and the number of individuals that applied for the exam.

What are SSC CGL Tier 1 and Tier 2?
As per the latest exam pattern issued by the Staff Selection Commission of India, the SSC CGL 2024 Exam includes two stages - Tier 1 and Tier 2, both of which are conducted in online mode. While the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam includes multiple-choice type questions (MCQs), the Tier 2 exam comprises three papers - Papers 1, 2, and 3. Among them Paper-1 is compulsory but the rest of the two papers of Tier 2 are only for the selective posts.Based on the marks scored in Tier 1 of SSC CGL i.e. Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, to appear in Tier-II Examination based on their respective categories.
SSC CGL Passing Marks 2024: Tier 1 & 2
The table below lists the minimum marks needed to pass SSC CGL Tiers 1 and 2. Cutoff marks and minimum qualifying marks, however, differ. The minimum qualifying marks of SSC CGL do not ensure a candidate's eligibility for the following stage of selection, whereas scoring equal to or above the cut-off makes candidates appear for the next round of SSC CGL.Candidates have to qualify in both SSC CGL tiers to get selected for various posts. Although the minimum qualifying marks remain the same every year, the cut-off marks keep changing. Below are the SSC CGL passing marks 2024:

SSC CGL Tier-1 Marking Scheme 2024
SSC CGL Tier-1 Marking Scheme has been described below:- It is a Computer Based Examination.
- It consists of MCQ Questions
- Exam for Tier-I is conducted in various shifts.
- This exam uses normalisation of scores because it is administered in various shifts.
- All of the questions are bilingual in Hindi and English, with the exception of English Comprehension.
- For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks are deducted.

- One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer in Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I, and 0.50 points will be deducted for every wrong answer in Paper-II and Paper III.
- Candidates that qualify for scribes will receive an additional 20 minutes of the allotted hour.
- Paper-I is compulsory for all posts. Paper II is for only JSO Post and Paper III is for only Assistant Account Officer and Assistant Audit Officer.
- Except for the DEST Test, Tier II will consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions.

SSC CGL Tier 1 & 2 Selection Procedure 2024
The SSC CGL selection process considers the merit of the candidates who qualify for the Tier 2 exam and their rank is decided based on their performance in the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam. According to the SSC CGL selection process, they will get the respective post available in the SSC CGL exam according to their rank.Candidates who pass Paper I are selected for all posts, however those who pass Paper II are only selected for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) posts in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. Shortlisted candidates from the SSC CGL Tier 1 examination can take Paper III, which is for the post of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.
Resolution of Tie in SSC CGL 2024
In the event of a tie in the scores of candidates in the Tier-1 or Tier-II SSC CGL examination, merit will be determined by applying the following factors in the following order, one after the other, until the tie is resolved:- Marks acquired in Papers II and III of the Tier-II Examination for the positions of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer, respectively.
- Scores achieved in Section I of Paper I of the Tier II Exam.
- Scores achieved in Section I of Paper I of the Tier II Exam. Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.
- The names of the candidates should appear in alphabetical order.
