BTech Course Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility for BTech after 12th is as follows:

  • Minimum Qualification Required: Candidates have to pass 10+2 in the Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) from a recognised board or equivalent.
  • Minimum Marks Required (Aggregate): Candidates have to secure 50% marks in aggregate. The maximum marks can be as high as 70% depending on college-to-college.
  • Age Limit: Some colleges and entrance exams can have a restriction on age for all the aspirants who aspire to take admission in BTech courses. Candidates should be at least 18 years of age and not be more than 24 years of age counted from the date of the examination.
  • Entrance Exams: The JEE Main and JEE Advanced are considered the two national-level entrance examinations through which BTech admissions are granted in IITs, NITs, and CFTIs. Other than this, state-level entrance tests can also be conducted and some BTech entrance tests are separately organized by the universities themselves.

Note: Original copies of all necessary documents and mark sheets have to be presented during the time of admission at the respective college or university.

On the other hand, if a student seeks BTech course 2nd-year admission via the method of lateral entry then students with a diploma must fulfill the subsequent BTech lateral entry eligibility criteria:
