Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is a Vocational Educational Provider in Canberra, Australia. It is an institute of TAFE’s. It was founded in 1928 as Canberra Technical College and in 1975 its name was changed to Canberra College of Technical Further Education. Later it merged with Bruce and Woden TAFE’s. Since January 1988, it has been Under Territory Authority. Canberra Institute of Technology delivers industry accredited courses to its students.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
Canberra Institute of Technology has four campuses across Canberra in Bruce, Woden, Fyshwick, and Reid and it has two flexible or distance learning centres in Gungahlin and Tuggeranong Town Centre. Institute offers courses in arts-design, automotive, beauty, building constructions, business, management, accounting, media, music, communication, fitness, health, government, hospitality, IT, science, teacher training.
Accomplishments & Alumni
The institution has an Industry Engagement and Strategic Relations Division adept at finding training solutions in partnership with industry and community organisations. In the years 2014 and 2015, CIT got ACT Training Excellence, ACT Large Registered Training Organization of the Year. Notable Alumni of CIT includes Loknath Sharma (Bhutanese Minister since 2018), Ainsley Gotto (Australian Public Servant and Entrepreneur), Teigan Van Roosmalen (Paralympic Swimmer)

Every Year CIT gives enrolment to more than 20000 students across all subjects and it is the largest Institute in Canberra. Top companies like Microsoft, Dominos, Woolworths Group, DXC Technology, HP, Fujitsu, Verizon, Optus, Oracle, etc give employment opportunities to students of CIT every year.
