About Karunya University
Karunya University has started its admission process for 2024. KEE for BTech and BSc Agriculture courses will be conducted on June 07, 2024, for the fifth slot. As for MBA admission at Karunya University, Karunya Management Exam (KMAT) 2024 slot four will be conducted on June 07, 2024.
Karunya University was founded in 1986 as an engineering college by the late Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran and the present chancellor, Dr. Paul Dhinakaran. In 1999, the UGC (University Grants Commission) declared it a deemed-to-be university. The UGC granted the university an autonomous status in recognition of its academic excellence by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the Government of India. Karunya University is accredited by NAAC with an “A++” grade. A lot of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral Karunya University courses are offered to candidates in the branches of engineering, biotechnology, food processing, and agricultural sciences. The placement cell of Karunya University is very active and hosts many leading companies for recruitment drive such as Amazon, Cognizant, TCS, and more.
The university was opened with a capacity for 180 students, today has a student body of over 7482 and a staff of about 397. The college has 18 academic departments in total. The institute is committed to executing its founders' vision. The Coimbatore-based Karunya University conducts research and development for issues relating to food, water, energy, and healthcare. KITS is the institute's commonly used name (Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences). Karunya University courses are offered for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees. Graduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering, the arts, and science are offered at the university. The university also provides management and agricultural programmes. For BTech and BSc admissions, it administers the Karunya Entrance Examination (KEE), and for MBA admissions, the Karunya Management Aptitude Test (KMAT). Karunya University Courses and Admission 2024
Karunya University courses are offered at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. The institute offers classes in biotechnology for food processing, agriculture, and engineering. Diploma students may also apply for lateral entry to Karunya University Coimbatore. For undergraduate or integrated programmes, a student's age cannot be greater than 21. Applications from postgraduate students who are older than 30 years old will be considered. The duration of the Karunya University courses varies with the levels of degrees. Anyone interested in getting Karunya University admission in the MBA courses should be aware of the eligibility criteria. The results of the KMAT, CAT, XAT, or CMAT entrance tests are taken into account for university admission. Candidates for MBA admission at Karunya University are required to have graduated from any stream with a minimum GPA of 50%. Karunya University Application Process 2024
- On the home page of Karunya University, click on the “APPLY NOW” button.
- The link will take the candidate to the EOI (Expression of Interest) Form, where the candidate has to fill out his details like email ID, contact number, etc. They have to provide the details of at least 2 courses they want to pursue.
- On submission of the form, the candidate will get the application number and the passcode to apply online on their email.
- Using the application number and the passcode, the candidate can go to the Karunya University admissions portal login and apply.
- On paying the Karunya University admission fee, provisional admission will be granted to the student.
- The final admission for B.Tech (all courses) and B.Sc. Agriculture will only be accepted when the candidate can produce the original certificates and as per the score of KEE 2024 and marks scored in the Higher Secondary Examination.
Karunya University Admission Process 2024
- As per the Karunya University admission process, the eligibility criteria for UG courses are the applicant’s performance in the Karunya Entrance Examination 2024 (KEE 2024) and the scores obtained in the Higher Secondary Examinations.
- Provisional admission in UG courses can be granted but will be confirmed only when the applicant can produce the original certificates as per the norms of the Institute.
- Karunya University admissions for PG courses are based on the merit obtained in qualifying examinations. Applicants can be granted admission as per the eligibility criteria, but the admission will be confirmed once the original documents/ certificates are produced.
- For Karunya University admission to B.Tech programmes as lateral, the applicant must have completed at least 3 years of diploma with minimum marks set by AICTE norms. The admissions will be granted for lateral as per the vacancies in the first-year program.
- For research programmes, notifications for admissions will be issued as advertisements in leading newspapers and on university websites. There will be a written test conducted in two parts. Part 1 will be a general aptitude test, while Part 2 will be a technical aptitude test. As per the performance in written tests and interviews, Karunya University admissions will be granted.

Karunya University Scholarships
Karunya University Coimbatore scholarships are offered to the meritorious students of the university. For B.Tech and B.Sc (Horticulture) admissions, the students who have scored 95% in PCM/PCB are awarded a scholarship of Rs. 1,20,000. The scholarships are renewed every year depending on the student’s academic performance. For B.com/B.Sc/BA, if a student scores above 90%, 80%, 70% and 60% in 10+2, a Karunya University scholarship of Rs 1500, 1300, 1100 and 1000 is awarded to the student respectively. For PhD scholars, a scholarship of Rs. 35000 is awarded to the candidate on a merit basis in National Level exams (SLET/NET); also if a candidate scores above 70% in a master’s degree, a scholarship of Rs. 25000 is awarded.
