CAT VARC practice test will evaluate candidates' English language skills, comprehension and analysis of written material, reasoning, and ability to draw inferences & conclusions. Reading Comprehension passages in VARC will be based on abstract topics like philosophy, psychology, or art; business and economics; science and technology; social and political issues; history and culture. The RC questions provided in the CAT VARC practice tests here will enable candidates to become well-versed in how to identify the main idea or theme of the passage, understand the author’s tone and attitude, apply critical reasoning to application-based questions, and draw inferences.
Important topics under Verbal Ability in CAT include Grammar, Fill in the Blanks, Clauses, Fact Inference Judgement, Para jumbles, Sentence Completion, One-word Substitution, Idioms, Synonyms & Antonyms, Para Completion and Inference, etc. A total of 24 questions will be asked from this section out of which 16 will be from Reading Comprehension (Multiple Choice Questions) and 8 will be from VA (Type In The Answer). Hence, candidates must spend at least 24-26 minutes on RC and the remaining on VA.
