NEST answer key 2025 will be released after a few days of the conduct of the NEST 2025 exam. The candidates will receive NEST answer key 2025 on their registered email addresses along with the answer scripts. After the release of NEST 2025 answer key, the candidates will be able to calculate the approximate marks that they will score and gauge their chances of selection and getting admission in the desired college. How to Check NEST Result 2025?

NEST 2025 Exam Merit List

The SMAS score of the best three subject scores from four subjects will be used to prepare the merit list for NEST exam 2025. (for both NISER and CEBS). In NEST 2022, the SMAS of all four subjects was considered when preparing the NISER merit list.

The NEST 2025 cut-off will be released by NISER Bhubaneswar and CEBS Mumbai according to sections, subjects and categories. The NEST 2025 cut-off will be released in two categories - Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS) that refers to the sectional cutoff and Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP) or overall percentile. As per officials, for each section, 20 percent of the average of the best 100 scores in that section will be considered as SMAS. It is obvious that SMAS for different sections will be of different numerical values. Candidates also need to clear the overall NEST 2025 cutoff percentile along with the sectional NEST cutoff 2025. The NEST 2025 exam cutoff with reference to previous year’s cutoff for General category candidates should be 95 percentile. The cutoff for OBC candidates is expected to be 90 percentile and 75 percentile for other reserved category candidates. 

Candidates who will qualify for the NEST 2025 exam will be able to participate in the NEST 2025 counselling process. The NEST 2025 counselling process will be conducted in three rounds. Qualifying candidates will have to upload documents that are verified by the officials and seats will be allotted to them. Candidates need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and pay the required seat allocation fee to complete the admission process. NISER Bhubaneswar and CEBS Mumbai will release separate institute-wise merit lists once the counselling process is over for NEST 2025 exam. Counselling in the first round continues until all available seats are filled or the modified merit list is depleted, whichever comes first. Following the first round of NEST counselling, each participating institute creates a waiting list. Candidates on the waiting list are admitted during the second round of counselling.

The NEST 2025 exam will be held to admit candidates to all of the participating institutes under the NEST 2025 programme. Candidates can enrol in a five-year integrated MSc programme in Basic Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics) offered by both NISER and UM-DAE CEBS. The available seats at both institutes are listed below. The number of seats available is tentative and may change when the NEST 2025 exam brochure is released:
