JEE Main 2023 January session exam has concluded and the result will be published soon by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The result will be released in the form of percentile scored by the candidates. The percentile scores are basically the normalized marks and not the actual ones. Normalization is done in order to eliminate any possible parity between difficulty levels in multiple shifts and days. For calculating the percentile score, NTA has explained the normalization process in detail. The authorities will convert the raw scores into percentile scores as result.
An applicant's percentile score compares his or her performance with that of all other test takers, not just raw marks or percentage scores. A percentage score tells how many candidates achieved a specific score in JEE Mains. Candidates should be familiar with the normalization process to estimate their rank before the official announcement of their JEE Main results.
