Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram invites applications for admission to integrated Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program offered in schools of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics for the session August 2016.
Eligibility Criteria for
Biology Program: Candidates should have bachelor’s degree in Biological/ Chemical/Physical/Mathematical sciences with a minimum of 55% marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 in the 10 point scale).
Chemistry Program: Candidates should have bachelor’s degree in Chemical sciences with a minimum of 55% marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 in the 10 point scale).
Mathematics Program: Candidates should have bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics/ Engineering/ Technology in a relevant discipline with minimum CGPA of 6.0 (or 55 % marks).
Physics Program: Candidates should have bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences, Engineering or Technology with minimum 55 % marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 in the 10 point scale).
How to Apply
Candidates can apply online of the Institute. The application fee is Rs. 200/- (Rs. 100/- for SC/ST applicants). Candidates should download the Powerjyoti challan form from the online application page (http://iisertvm.in/iphd) and deposit it at any branch office of State Bank of India.
Selection Procedure for -
All shortlisted candidates are required to appear for a written aptitude test followed by an interview.
Mathematics Program: NBHM-M.Sc fellowship holders are exempted from the written test.
Physics Program: Applicants should have cleared the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST)-2016.
