To avoid the delay in academic loss due to lockdown, IITs and NITs have decided to conduct the final exams for B.Tech students through the online mode. The decision of writing the exams from home has been taken by the institutes to avoid the problems faced by the students in higher studies and placements due to delay in the final exam. In the context of this decision, Tadepalligudem NIT and IIT Tirupati have also developed an online software platform to conduct the online exams.

The online exams for the students of Tadepalligudem NIT will commence from June 1st, 2020 . As per the official notification, out of the overall marks, 75% of the marks will be calculated from the internal and mid-semester exams. While the remaining 25% of the marks will be calculated on the basis of the online exam conducted. Through the online examination portal, the candidates will be allowed to download the question paper from the portal after activating their cameras which will be used for monitoring the students during the exam.

As stated by the dean of IIT Tirupati, Satyanarayan, the online exams will be conducted as there is no chance for the students to come and appear for the exam amidst lockdown. After the exam, the appearing students will be given a pass or fail markings instead of grades as a result.
