Here is a good news for the engineering aspirants. SRM University located in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh is offering scholarships to the meritorious/ most deserving students. The varsity will provide a 50% fee waiver to the students who score 90% or above in PCM subjects in CBSE or 95% in PCM subjects in any state board. Students from Andhra Pradesh can also avail this scholarship scheme. However, they need to have 95% in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (PCM) in intermediate.
Students with 95% in CBSE (PCM subjects) are eligible for the Founder’s Scholarship that would include complete tuition and hostel fee waiver.

SRM University is going to commence its first academic session at Amaravati in July 2017. The varsity got approval from the state government in 2016. The varsity is focusing on establishing a multi-stream research university in the new capital region of Andhra Pradesh. The varsity will start with the faculties of engineering and technology this year.
The major objective of SRM University, Amaravati is to provide research-based education. The varsity has been taking steps to adopt a flexible curriculum that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship. For designing the curriculum, SRM University also tied up with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), United States.

SRM University, Amaravati will also establish Centers of Excellence in Space Technology, CRISPR, Internet of Things and Renewable Energy. The unique thing about SRM University is the Centre for Blue Economy that will come up on the campus.
The varsity has wrapped up the recruitment process and faculty members with high profiles have been appointed. All the faculty members have Ph.D. degrees from world class universities. Among all the faculty members, 90% have international exposure and experience.
This year, the varsity will offer the following B.Tech programmes: -
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Computer Science Engineering
The varsity will admit only 240 meritorious students this year.
