Harvard Business School (HBS) Online & Pune based Audyogik Shikshan Mandal (ASM) have expanded their current relationship that covers only the business fundamentals for students who may not possess any formal business training in the past. However, from here on, nearly all courses offered on its’ online asynchronous platform will be accessible to the ASM students including courses in finance, sustainability, negotiation, leadership, global business etc. Through this, ASM will become the only b-school in India that will offer a curriculum integrated with HBS Online courses. All the HBS online courses are developed by leading Harvard Business School faculty and offer participants the opportunity to engage with a global cohort, enhancing their exposure and business acumen development. Ross Pearo, Sr. Director, Strategic Alliances & Initiatives at HBS Online and Dr. Sandeep Pachpande, Chairman of ASM Group signed the contract recently.
“We are pleased to build on our collaboration with ASM. By allowing access to Indian students, we extend the mission of Harvard Business School to ‘educate leaders who make a difference in the world’,” said HBS Online Executive Director Patrick Mullane.

We were the first b-school in India to offer CORe- their business fundamentals program and we are happy to now be able to offer more of the impactful HBS Online programs,” said Dr. Sandeep Pachpande, Chairman ASM.
In his comments after signing the MoU, Ross Pearo, Sr. Director, Strategic Alliances & Initiatives, HBS Online, said, “The core values of ASM are aligned to that of HBS and we have seen significant traction in the collaboration since the limited one was signed in 2016. The feedback we have received from students in India who have gone through the courses has been extremely positive.”
While elaborating on how the ASM Pune students will benefit from being a part of this collaboration between HBS Online, he said that the programmes are designed in such a way that the participants can connect with a variety of students from around the world, whether from the industry or other institutes of higher education that will further enable them to learn alongside students with different backgrounds and perspectives. A large part of the values of the Harvard Business School approach to teaching is connecting the individuals and sharing of ideas.
Candidates who participate in this will be awarded degrees from ASM Pune and certificates from HBS Online after successful completion of all the requirements.

Shifting focus to employment opportunities, the panel spoke about the gap that exists within the industry and the way Indian traditional teaching methods function. HBS Online courses will focus on teaching concepts and case studies. Additionally, the participants will be able to grab learnings from not only the HBS Online platform but from the cohort as well. HBS Online courses will help students for a better understanding of concepts and its applicability in organizations and business situations as such thereby increasing employability. Not only that, but the Harvard tag also adds to the increased chances of gaining good opportunities and better visibility in a professional set up.

On the other hand, since Harvard is an academic institution and its mission is to educate leaders who can make a difference to the world.
