Latest Update: All schools and colleges in Bangalore are expected to remain open as no information on the Bangalore School Holiday for 24 October 2024 has been confirmed yet. However, the areas affected by floods or waterlogging shall remain closed.
School Holiday in Bangalore for 24 October 2024 Updates
The state has been facing heavy rainfall for the past week in a lot of its districts. The meteorological department has issued a Yellow alert in most of its districts. However, according to the weather experts, the situation will improve in the next 24 to 48 hours. Meanwhile, the Bangalore city administration has been asked to stay prepared for severe rainfall.
As per the latest update, no holiday has been announced for schools for 24 October 2024 by the state government.
The city zones of the following three districts have received heavy rain in the last 72 hours. Due to this, the lakes in all three cities are overflowing. A school holiday is likely in these cities:
Yelahanka
Mahadevpura
Dasarahalli
The Chowdeshwari layout so far has received 160 mm of rainfall, standing at the highest rainfall in history.
Aside from schools, the Karnataka government has recommended to IT and Electronics sector and private companies to allow work from home on Wednesday. "In light of the yellow alert and anticipated bad weather, we prioritise safety and well-being of employees working in IT, BT and private companies," the advisory issued by Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Electronics Department said.
Several districts are kept under watch by the IMD for rainfall.
Bengaluru Urban District Commissioner Jagadish G will share the official announcement about the potential holiday in the schools tomorrow.
