CAT 2020 VARC Topic Wise Weightage in Slot 1
VARC had a total of 26 questions this year with 18 questions from Reading Comprehension and 8 questions from Verbal Ability. 5 TITA questions were asked this year. The difficulty level of VARC was similar to that of last year. The number of questions was revealed for the first time in this slot but otherwise, there were no surprise elements.
TITA questions in the VARC section were reported to be a bit easier as compared to MCQs. Experts suggest that it would be best to avoid any tricky questions in VARC. The RC passages were almost equal in length of 450-500 words each. As per reports, the vocabulary of this section was the difficult part with many words that were hard to understand.

CAT 2020 DILR Topic Wise Weightage in Slot 1
A total of 25 questions were asked in the DILR section of CAT 2020. The section was more or less based on the same pattern as last year. However, the only surprise element was that 2 sets with 6 questions each were asked in the exam, which has not been seen before. Apart from that, 3 sets with 4 questions each were part of the question paper. The number of TITA questions was 6, which included 1 complete set with 4 questions. The remaining 2 TITA questions were in another set.
There were 3 sets from DI and 2 sets from LR section in this section. The sets were reported to be lengthy and time-consuming. The number of good attempts in this section can be said to be around 15 - 18 questions with high accuracy for a 99 percentile score and around 10-12 questions can get you a 95 percentile. The sets with 6 questions were lengthy and a bit difficult to attempt while the sets with 4 questions were comparatively easier.

CAT 2020 Quantitative Ability Topic Wise Weightage in Slot 1
QA section had 26 questions in Slot 1 of CAT 2020. The difficulty level was reported to be a bit easier than last year with no major surprise elements in the question paper. The section had a lot of questions from Arithmetic, Algebra, Logarithms, Number System and Functions. Very few questions were reported from the Modern Maths section.
The number of good attempts in QA section in Slot 1 of CAT 2020 can be said to be around 13-15 questions for 95 percentile and around 20 questions for 99+ percentile with high accuracy. Questions from Arithmetic could be attempted with Moderate difficulty but Geometry questions were reported to be quite difficult in the exams. Around 2-3 questions in the section were from Logarithms while no PnC questions were reported this year.
