CAT 2022 Reservation Policy: CAT 2022 Notification has been released, and the application forms will be available from August 3, 2022. Candidates who are interested in applying should be aware of the eligibility criteria and the reservation policy. The conducting body has released the CAT 2022 Reservation Policy. The notification has clearly stated the reservation policy and who will be eligible to apply under the reservation policy. Further, candidates will have the opportunity to enter their category at the time of registration. No change will be allowed in the later stages of the application process. CAT 2022 Reservation Policy: Category-wise Seat Reserved
As per the notification released, CAT 2022 will recognize the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes “Non-Creamy” layer (NC-OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD). Candidates applying under these categories will have to produce certificates supporting the same signed by officials. Here is the CAT 2022 Reservation Policy:

Who is eligible for CAT 2022 PWD Reservation?
As per the CAT 2022 Reservation Policy, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD) will be considered for people with a minimum of 40% disability. Specifically, the policy will accept candidates based on the definition laid out in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016). As per the act, people with disabilities are not less than 40% which is not definitive and cannot be measured under terms and are certified by the concerned authorities. Further, the categories of disabilities as specified in the RPwD Act 2016 are:
- People with low vision or blindness.
- People with hard hearing problems or deaf.
- People with leprosy cured, acid attack victims, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy, and locomotor disability including cerebral palsy.
- People suffering from autism, specific learning disability, intellectual disability, and mental illness.
Further, candidates with multiple disabilities above will also be considered under the Specified Disabilities category as mentioned in The Schedule of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016). Hence, candidates must be careful to fill out the details, as they will not be allowed to alter or modify and the same will be considered through the admission process at IIMs.
